CloudShare Introduces – New Templates, HTML5 RDP

This week’s release is going to be a two part-er. Two big things were released today, which I will tell you about now. As for the other thing, well you’re just going to have to wait until later this week to find out more!

I told you we were going to turn the heat up on templates. We did! We now have four new templates for you, as well as many service packs and updates to existing templates:

“SharePoint 2010 Enterprise SP1 W/ SQL 2012 and BI Stack”

This long awaited template comes with:

OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 SP1
Spec: 80 GB HD / 8 GB RAM

  • SQL Server 2012 Business Intelligence Edition with PowerPivot, PowerView, SSRS (Native Mode and SharePoint Mode), SSAS (Multidimensional and Data Mining Mode, PowerPivot for SharePoint, Tabular Mode)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 PowerPivot for Microsoft Excel 2010

“SQL Server 2012 w/BI Stack”

This template comes with:

OS: Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 SP1
Spec: 40 GB HD / 2 GB RAM

  • SQL Server 2012 Business Intelligence Edition

“SharePoint 2010 Standard – No Configuration”

Just like the “SharePoint 2010 Enterprise – No Configuration”. This template is the SharePoint Bits installed without any configuration.

It also has the following tools installed:

  • SQL Server 2012 Business Intelligence Edition
  • Visual studio 2010
  • SharePoint Designer
  • Office WebApps SP1
  • Office 2010 Pro
  • Visio 2010 Premium Edition
  • Adobe Reader

And finally:

“Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 w/ Office 2010”

This is a new Windows 7 Pro template configured as x64-bit, with SP1 and Office 2010 installed.

We also made some updates to your HTML 5 RDP client. The HTML 5 RDP is available to Safari users on Mac and iOS users on iPhone and iPad. The update includes several improvements to the stability and performance of the RDP connection. If you are a regular user of the HTML 5 RDP client, please refresh your browsers cache to ensure you are using the latest version.

There was one more major feature release this Release Day, but I can’t tell you about it yet. The suspense is killing us both!
