CloudShare Goes Mobile, Again.

Remember when Nokia was at the top of the mobile phone game? Having a Nokia phone was like a right of passage into the mobile world!

Well, Nokia may have taken a back seat to the iPhone over the last few years, but they aren’t going down without a fight. They’ve partnered with Microsoft to offer the Nokia Lumia 900. Many are skeptical, many are hopeful, but regardless, the message is loud and clear that the mobile phone market is just too important for Nokia and Microsoft to stop trying.

Given our love of Microsoft here at CloudShare (can you say SharePoint?), and our understanding of the impact of mobile technologies, we’ve published a new community template, “Mobile Application Development.” This environment is specifically for mobile application development on Windows Phone 7 and Android, created by Andrew Clark, @sharepointac, and Chris Riley, @hoardinginfo.

Environment Features:
Windows 7
– Visual Studio 2010 SP1
– Windows Mobile SDK 7.1
– Expression Ultimate 4.0
– Eclipse with Android Add-On
– Common emulators
– Android JRE SDK
– SQLite

In this environment, the virtual machine comes pre-configured with the typical tools for development on these mobile platforms so you can get started now on your next app for the much anticipated Lumia 900! And, we just love that this is a community built template, because community is what we’re about.

Try out this environment today.

Happy CloudSharing!
