CloudShare Going Mobile

By Danielle Arad - February 8, 2013

I’m letting you in on something exciting we’re working on over here. We’ve been hearing there’s a need for software development, QA, and sales teams to be able to access their lab environments when they’re away from their desks or laptops. So the CloudShare product team has been cooking up a way for you to control your virtualized environments on CloudShare from your cell phones… Welcome to the ProOnTheGo BETA!

There are some cool things you can easily do in CloudShare from your mobile device with this:

  1. Resume environments
  2. Extend environment suspend time
  3. Send a copy and assign a contributor to your environments

Imagine you’re sitting in the lobby of one of your biggest customers, waiting to meet with your client to walk them through a demo of your software product. Next you walk into a conference room and spend 15 minutes setting up your laptop, the projector, and then logging into your demo environment. And then you resume your environment, and you have to then make small talk and let everyone know as soon as the environment resumes you can get started. This whole process often wastes 30 minutes of prime demo time.

Now imagine having CloudShare on your mobile device. While you were in the lobby you resumed your demo environment from your mobile phone. By the time you walk into that conference room your demo instance is ready to go. You now have the power to make sure your demo is running before you even get into the room, and eliminate this waiting time! You can also extend the time until your CloudShare environment suspends, or instantly add contributors to any environment, just by clicking a button from your mobile phone.

Note that if you use your PC or Mac, you can play with the phone emulator for this in your browser. How cool is that!
