A Scottish tech start-up has clinched a deal that could be worth millions of pounds with one of Silicon Valley’s fastest growing cloud-based technology firms.

Administrate, based in Edinburgh, provides software training platforms used by blue-chip clients such as PwC and the University of York to enable them to manage online teaching programmes. The deal with San Francisco-based CloudShare, a company that specialises in cloud-based software solutions, will enable Administrate to broaden the range of its business and offer its services to a larger number of clients.

Cloud-based software is a rapidly expanding market. A recent report by tech market research group Gartner forecasts the market for cloud computing will be worth almost £300bn within two years.
