Julia Child once said: “The measure of achievement is not winning awards. It’s doing something that you appreciate, something you believe is worthwhile.” I couldn’t agree more. Even so, there’s no arguing that awards are nice, kind of like frosting on a donut – and who doesn’t like that?

That said, Network Products Guide (NPG), a leading technology research and advisory publication, has named our virtual IT labs solution a gold winner in the Training Awareness and Education Program category of its annual IT World Awards®. We also received bronze in Hot Technology & Solution of the Year for IT Cloud/SaaS.

That’s a lot of frosting, especially considering these are one of the world’s premier IT awards, honoring achievement and innovation across the industry for the past fourteen years. They recognize the best – in areas from products and services to deployment success and leadership skills – and the criteria is judged by an international panel.

51 Best Practices to Boost Customer Software Training

I can’t deny it. Taking the top spot in Training Awareness and Education felt very gratifying for a while. Yet, what motivates and makes us happy on a daily basis is hearing how our virtual IT labs enable customers to improve their virtual training, sales demos & POCS, support and product development. It’s a reminder that what we’re doing is worthwhile.

Bronze for Hot Technology in the IT Cloud/SaaS category is equally pleasing. According to Gartner’s Sid Nag, “SaaS users are increasingly demanding more purpose-built offerings engineered to deliver specific business outcomes.” Even IT personnel find huge-commodity cloud providers difficult to work with. Enterprises enlist our specialized cloud solution because we meet their specific needs and goals.

Our purpose, after all, is to serve them, not vice versa.

The thing is, when you submit for an award, the coordinators and judges want to know how customers feel about your offerings. The following are just a few snippets from quotes that NPG received:

  • “Every time we use CloudShare, it saves us anywhere from four hours to a day.”
    • “If I have to create a class in an hour, I can just send out an invitation and the environment is built for that class.”
  • “Despite the ever-increasing scope of our training operations, I still don’t need a separate manager for CloudShare. I think that speaks volumes for the functionality and scalability of their solution.”

Why is this most important to us?

The recognition by NPG validates our position, but customer feedback lets us know we’re doing things right. They noted savings, speed, scale and simplicity as the core benefits of our cloud solutions for training, sales enablement, sandboxing for testing and customer support. These are the very messages we focus upon most, in marketing, and more importantly, in the service and support we strive to provide to customers.

So, we’d like to thank our customers for making this honor and our success possible. And, on a personal note, a shout-out to the CloudShare team. Wrestling legend, Dan Gabel, once said, “Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts.”

Thanks for showing your mettle each and every day.

Tried the big commodity vendors but it was a bust? You’re not alone. See how we can get you back on track!
