CloudShare goes on a Safari

Editor’s Note- I have a Mac museum in my home, read my wedding vows from an iPad, and memorize every Apple keynote.

You have seen it on the bi-weekly release posts over and over, “Added support for Safari and iOS”, and now I am ready to tell you about it.

I’ve been sworn to secrecy for 2 months, but now I’m ready to tell you all about our new HTML 5 RDP client available to Safari users on the Mac, iPad, or iPhone. You heard me! HTML, the number 5, R and D and P, on CloudShare!

This bad boy is a full RDP client that runs accelerated on your Safari for Mac, Safari on iPad, and even the iPhone. Now you Mac users, and you SharePoint pros who us Apple products in secret, can leverage all the power of CloudShare from your favorite iDevice.

This feature was in high demand by everyone including myself. Now from my MacBook Air I no longer turn to my virtualized Chrome or Firefox browser, I spend my whole day on CloudShare in Safari. I find that it’s even more convenient RDP as just another tab in my browser versus a complete new window.

So here are the simple steps for the supported devices:

For the Mac:

  • Launch Safari
  • Browse to use.CloudShare.com/Pro
  • Login
  • View your Environment
  • When a machine is ready, click the drop-down for Full-Screen RDP

Wham! RDP in a new tab of Safari

On the iPad or iPhone

  • Launch Safari
  • Browse to use.CloudShare.com/Pro
  • Login
  • View your Environment
  • When the machine is ready click “View Machine”

Double Wham! A new tab will open with the RDP client loaded. Want another machine? It will open in yet another tab.

On the iPad, it’s not just a neat trick, it’s a great way to look at your machine on the couch while watching “Biggest Loser”, for demos on the run, or just to show your friends how #Cloud #Mobile #Cool you are.

For Mac users, your productivity in the Cloud has dramatically increased, those Windows users isn’t got nothing on you.
